You want power, comfort, and a wrist you can trust. Our boxing gloves cover kids' sizes through XL, with padding from 4 oz to 18 oz so you can match your goal. Heavier gloves give more hand and wrist protection for long rounds. Look for curved foam that lines up your fist, secure wrist wraps that keep your hand straight, and breathable palms that manage heat. Choose a design you like and focus on clean technique.
Most adults train on heavy punching bags with 12 to 16 oz gloves. Go 12 oz for speed and easy movement, 14 oz for a balance of speed and cushioning, and 16 oz if your hands or wrists need extra support. Check your coach’s advice and your gym’s rules before buying.
Aim for a snug fit that still lets you make a full fist with wraps on. Your fingers should reach the end without cramping. If the palm bunches or your fingertips go numb, size up. If your hand shifts inside on impact, size down or try a different brand.
Many gyms ask for 16 oz for adult sparring to protect partners and hands. Lighter athletes sometimes use 14 oz, and bigger athletes may use 18 oz. Follow your gym policy, wrap well, and check that you can close your fist and block without wrist strain during rounds.
