You’ll find Thai-style leather pads for heavy sparring, sleeve and elastic styles for fast classes, and instep guards for rule-set sports. Shop trusted names like Fairtex, Venum, Everlast, Twins, Shinobi, Siam Ball, Sting, Top King, Viking, and Yokkao. Since 2006, MMA Factory has helped Australian athletes gear up without blowing the budget. We back that with friendly support and a pricing policy that keeps quality and cost in balance.
Pair them with boxing gloves and Muay Thai shorts.
What size shin guards do I need?
Sizing differs between brands, so compare your shin length and calf size with the size chart on the product page. Our range runs from kids to XL. If you sit between sizes, go up if you have larger calves or want a looser strap.
How should shin guards fit?
They should sit just under your kneecap and finish above your ankle bone. You want a snug hold that doesn’t pinch, and no twisting when you throw a kick or check. If your toes tingle or the straps are maxed out, go up a size.
Do I need shin-only or shin-and-foot?
For bag work and light pad rounds, shin-only is fine. If you’re doing partner work or your club requires it, choose shin-and-foot to protect your toes and your partner’s forearms.
Leather or synthetic shin guards?
Leather guards are the traditional choice for heavy Muay Thai sparring and tend to mould to your leg over time. Synthetic guards are lighter and often cheaper, which suits beginners and fast-paced classes.
Do I need shin guards for beginner classes?
Most gyms require them for sparring and partner drills, so ask your coach first. If your gym asks for a specific style, such as shin-and-foot, choose that one.
